1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Outsolve handles information when you use the Outsolve apps, widgets, online services, and website (together, the “Services”). Outsolve is operated by the developer identified on the applicable app store listing (“Outsolve”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

This is the same policy for iOS, Android, and the website. Features and service providers described here apply only where they are available. References to Android do not mean an Android app is currently available.

2. Information we handle

Information you provide

• Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier and may receive the name and email address you choose to share. Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email address.
• Profile information. This includes the display name you choose and your friend connections or requests.
• Support information. If you contact support, we receive your email address, topic, message, and any optional app or device details you include.
• Puzzle activity. This includes answers, guesses, solutions, scores, completion times, moves, streaks, achievements, leaderboard results, race activity, and challenge activity.

Information created automatically

• Account and installation identifiers used to keep sessions, puzzles, results, entitlements, and abuse controls working correctly.
• App and device information made available by your device or our service providers, such as app version, operating system, language, approximate region, crash or diagnostic information, network information, and advertising identifiers where permitted.
• Purchase and entitlement information from Apple, such as whether a subscription or lifetime purchase is active. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
• Local data stored on your device, including preferences, offline puzzle state, locally completed results, tutorial progress, cached leaderboards, and widget settings.

Advertising information

The free version may use Google Mobile Ads and the Kickstart Exchange to show or measure advertising. Depending on your region, choices, and device permissions, advertising providers may handle device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad interactions, diagnostics, and information used for ad personalisation or measurement. Where required, Outsolve asks for consent or tracking permission before requesting eligible ads. You can review available advertising privacy choices in Settings when the option is shown.

When you visit the website, hosting and security providers process technical request information such as IP address, browser details, and request logs to deliver pages and protect the service. The website is hosted through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. It does not add advertising, analytics trackers, or account sign-in. Support form information is stored in our private Supabase support queue. Browser storage, if used, is limited to local interface preferences.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• provide accounts, puzzles, races, friends, achievements, leaderboards, history, widgets, and Premium features;
• save, sync, rank, and restore eligible results and purchases;
• personalise app preferences and remember your choices;
• operate support, diagnose faults, prevent cheating, spam, fraud, and abuse, and protect players and the Services;
• understand and improve reliability, accessibility, gameplay, and performance;
• provide and measure advertising where enabled and permitted; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Services, your consent, and compliance with legal obligations, as appropriate.

4. When information is shared

We may share information with service providers that help operate the Services, including:

• Supabase, for hosted database, authentication, server functions, and related infrastructure;
• Apple, for Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, Game Center, app distribution, and device services;
• Google, for advertising, consent management, and related measurement when ads are enabled; and
• Kickstart Exchange, when its indie-app promotion is displayed or used.

Leaderboard display names, scores, ranks, achievements, and other competitive results may be visible to other players. Friend-related information is shared as needed to provide friend requests, comparisons, races, and challenges.

We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or complete a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information for money. Some advertising disclosures may be treated as “sharing”, “targeted advertising”, or a “sale” under certain laws; available consent and device controls apply.

Public leaderboard display names, ranks, and competitive statistics are also visible to anyone visiting outsolveapp.com without signing in. The public website does not display email addresses, account identifiers, friend connections, private attempts, or puzzle answers.

5. Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including providing account history, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing abuse, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record. Local app data remains until removed by the app, by you, or by deleting the app, subject to device backups. Support messages may be kept while a request is handled and for a reasonable follow-up period.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, or object to or withdraw consent for certain handling.

You can:

• update your display name and preferences in Outsolve Settings;
• sign out in Settings;
• manage subscriptions through your Apple Account settings;
• manage tracking permission in iOS Settings;
• use advertising privacy choices in Outsolve Settings when available; and
• submit a privacy request through the support form on this website.

We may need to verify a request before acting on it. Some information may be retained where the law permits or requires it, including records needed for security, fraud prevention, transactions, or legal claims.

Apple account, purchase, and device controls apply to iOS. If an Android app becomes available, Google account, Google Play purchase, and Android device controls apply where those services are used. You can always make a privacy request at https://outsolveapp.com/support.

7. International processing and security

Our providers may process information in Australia and other countries. Those countries may have different privacy laws. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Outsolve is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, submit a request through the support website so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date are published on this website. Material changes may also be highlighted in the app or by another reasonable method.
